Any individual who leaves NYC hating it must be crazy. The two times that I've been there, it crushed me to come back home to the burg. I feel like a piece of me is there and I'm supposed to go find it. It's such a mysterious place, which makes it all the more intriguing. All of it's lights... sounds... ah! Just thinking of New York makes me smile and anxious to go back.
My hubby, a couple friends and I were there for about 8 hours, and despite the fact that Sandy came through a couple weeks before, and snow had fallen the prior weekend, we couldn't have asked for better weather. Of course, it did get chilly once the sun hid behind the skyscrapers, but that helped numb my sore feet and aching back.
Our "tour guide" was Amy, who had lived in NYC for a year or so. She was great! We each had our "this is what I want to see" list, which when we put them together, we thought was going to be impossible to see everything. But we went everywhere that everyone wanted to see, plus a little more thanks to her knowing where to go! Well, I still haven't been able to enjoy a street vendor hot dog, pizza OR pretzel... So that's a priority on my to-do list for my next trip, which I am currently checking my calendar to see when we can go again.
Below, you will find the photo that I feel best described my day with my hubby and two good friends. The three subjects in the picture are Tim, Amy and Paul. Thanks, guys, for such a great NYC experience! It was a whirlwind, but it was so wonderful.
